I like Paksiw especially Bangus. I was planning to have Paksiw na Tulingan sa Gata for dinner. However, while I was at the supermarket, the Tulingan doesn't looked good. I was caught between Porkchops and Tilapia. I know Tilapia in Gata is good but I haven't tried the Paksiw na Tilapia in coconut milk. It's for me to find out, so I gave it a try.
This is my Paksiw na Tilapia sa Gata at Luyang Dilaw |
For those who are planning to make this, here is my recipe:
Ingredients:
1k Tilapia (washed and cleaned)
2pcs medium size Red Onion (chopped)
4cloves of Garlic (minced)
4pcs finger sized Luyang Dilaw or Turmeric (stripped)
5pcs Green Chili (Siling Haba)
1/2cup Vinegar
1/2cup Water
1tbsp. Olive Oil (optional)
200ml Gata o coconut milk
100grams Pechay or Phil.Bukchoy
Salt and Pepper to taste
Seasoning (optional)
Procedure:
1. Arranged cleaned Tilapia in a medium sized kettle. Put in the onion, garlic, vinegar, water, oil, chili, salt and pepper. Bring to boil. Add seasoning.
2. Continue to cook until the vinegar-water broth will half in volume.
3. Put in turmeric and coconut milk. Simmer for 10-15 minutes.
4. Put in the vegetable but do not overcook.
5. Serve.
Since I still have turmeric, I am planning to cook Chicken Liver Arroz Caldo next time...seeyah!!!
